Eric Solash is a managing director who joined Freeman & Co. at the end of 2007, focusing on M&A advisory and capital raising initiatives for insurance companies. Since then he has worked on the following transactions, among others:
+ Herald National Bank's capital raise (NYSE Alternext: HNB)
+ Sale of Security Benefit, parent of Security Benefit Life Insurance Company, Rydex|SGI, se2 and Security Financial Resources, to a Guggenheim Partners led investor group
+ ULLICO's senior debt and reinsurance transaction with Patriot Risk Management
Previously he was a strategy consultant for the executive management team at Ullico Inc., a multi-line insurer located in Washington, DC. Prior to working for Ullico, Eric was the Head of M&A for Inviva Inc., an insurance holding company located in New York City that had previously purchased The American Life Insurance Company of New York from Mutual of America and the Conseco Variable Insurance Company from Conseco, Inc. Prior to his investment banking career Eric worked on a proprietary trading desk at Barclays Capital, and traded emerging market debt and derivatives, as well as mortgage derivatives, in the fixed income group at Salomon Smith Barney. He received a B.A. in American History from the University of Pennsylvania.
